The President of the Government, Vasco Cordeiro, congratulated Santa Clara club on its promotion to the Premier League. According to him, this promotion to major football league in Portugal "dignifies the history of the club and honours the Autonomous Region of the Azores."
 
"The return of the Santa Clara Sports Club to the Premier League demonstrates that, with hard work, dedication and effort, it is possible to achieve the fair ambition of being in the group of the best in the most diverse areas and on our own merit" said Vasco Cordeiro.
 
In the message sent to the Ponta Delgada-based club, after the 3-0 victory against Real de Massamá club, the President of the Government congratulated the Board, the technical team, all athletes and officials of Santa Clara on the promotion to the Premier League. Vasco Cordeiro expressed his "hope that the promotion to the Premier League will mark the beginning of many future sporting successes on behalf of Azorean sport and the Azores."
