Ana Cunha highlights investment of 1.1 million Euros in road signs and road safety

The Regional Secretary for Transport and Public Works stressed today that the Government's investment in improving road signs and road safety in the regional road network will reach 1.1 million Euros this year.

Ana Cunha spoke at the end of a visit to the contract work for the placement of metal guardrails on the Caldeirão road, held under the Government's statutory visit to Corvo. At the occasion, she highlighted the Regional Government's commitment to improve mobility and quality of life of the Azorean population.

The Regional Secretary emphasised that this intervention is in line with the Government's goal "to improve the accessibility of public roads, taking into consideration the conditions of mobility and quality of life of the Azorean population. It will also improve traffic conditions and road safety in the regional road network."

The contract work included the supply and placement of metal guardrails and devices for motorcyclists, covering a 200-metre extension of the regional access road to Caldeirão, between Outeiro da Roça and Maranhão.

The work, carried out by the company Tecnovia Açores, represented an investment of 20,850 Euros, with a stipulated completion period of 40 days; it has been fully concluded.
