APIA with 875 thousand euros to attract investments in the Azores and to promote the Region abroad
The Government of the Azores endowed the Agency for Promotion of the Investment of the Region (APIA) with an amount of 875 thousand euros meant for financing activities planned for this year in the areas of the captivation of extern investment in the Region, support to the execution of projects and identification of aids and incentives to implement by the Executive in the found raising of business initiatives.
In terms of a contract-program established between the APIA and the Government of Carlos César, of this total 530 thousand euros will cover the exercise of 2008 and the remainder 345 thousand respect to the financing of works begun in 2007, but with conclusion this year.
In the Resolution that establishes the terms of the document, the Executive underlines like others of the attributions of the agency the contribution for the promotion of policies and practices of reduction of costs of context in the Region, the management and the negotiation of supports of risk capital and the participation in the management of industrial and business parks.
Created in the middle of 2006 as instrument for the promotion of the investment of the Azores in a perspective of increase of the productivity and competitiveness of the regional economy, the APIA has seat in Ponta Delgada and has a state capital of 50 thousand euros.
