The Regional Secretariat for Energy, Environment and Tourism joins the "Winter Edition" of Tourism Creative Factory, an initiative promoted under the Fostering Innovation in Tourism 2019 programme. After four editions, it will reach the Azores for the first time and will be presented in Ponta Delgada on September 19.
 
The presentation session will be attended by the Regional Secretary for Energy, Environment and Tourism, Marta Guerreiro, the National Coordinator of the Tourism Creative Factory, the Head of the Innovation and Project Management Department of National Tourism Authority, the Director of the Ponta Delgada Tourism and Hotel School and the Try Portugal Founder (participant in the 1st edition of the project).
 
Tourism Creative Factory is an ideation programme promoted by GesEntrepreneur with the support of the Portuguese Network of Hotel and Tourism Schools. It is also part of the Tourism Training Talents, an initiative recently awarded by the World Tourism Organisation.
 
Through a partnership with the Ponta Delgada Tourism and Hotel School with the support of the Government and other regional partners, the initiative aims to attract about fifteen new projects in the territory, thus allowing Azorean entrepreneurs to access some of the best practices of ideation and acceleration projects, adapted to the local reality.
 
This ideation programme is directed to anyone who has an idea in the area of tourism and wants to benefit from the support of a team of business makers as well as of a network of business facilitators specialised in supporting ideas to be transformed into new businesses.
 
The three-month ideation programme will culminate in a "Regional Demo-Day" to take place in December.
 
The "5 Stars Days" is another distinguishing feature of this initiative, featuring nationally and internationally renowned experts who share their knowledge with the projects and all those interested in its various themes. This year's edition will include a "5 Stars Day" in Ponta Delgada with António Paraíso, who will address the theme of Luxury Tourism.
