The Regional Directorate for Tourism/ Azorean Tourism Association’s programme for the promotion of the Region abroad starts today at the Reiseliv Fair, in Norway. This event ends on Sunday.
The marketing programme will continue from the 13th until the 18th, in Utrecht, at the active tourism fair of Vakantiebeurs, at Helsinki’s Matka from the 15th until the 18th; and, simultaneously, in Dublin, at the Holliday World Dublin, from and in Copenhagen, at the Ferie fair, respectively. The promotional programme will end at the Fitur fair, in Madrid, from the 28th until the 1st of February.
These promotional events are crucial for Azorean tourism, given the influx of tourists from these markets.
Furthermore, in January, the Azores will be promoted for the first time in a nautical fair, the London International Boat Show, which takes place from 9th until the 18th of the current month. Both the Regional Directorate for Tourism and the Ports of the Azores will attend this event. The destination “Azores” will also participate as an “observer” in the Boot Fair of Düsseldorf, Germany.
The participation of the Azores in tourism fairs takes place in the context of the official Portuguese representation, which are organised by Tourism of Portugal (Turismo de Portugal). Participation in nautical tourism fairs and Ferie fair are directly organised by the Regional Directorate for Tourism. The location for this year’s participation in Ferie fair was jointly acquired by the Directorate and TAP, the Portuguese national airline.
