Government’s Communication Network is selected for the final phase of the Good Practices in the Public Sector Prize
The Voice and Data Communication Network project of the Government of the Azores, developed by the Regional Secretariat for Science, Technology and Equipments, was selected for the national final of the 7th Edition of the Good Practices in the Public Sector Prize.
From the 116 applications, the National Jury nominated 42 applications for the Prize Awarding Gala which will take place on May 21 at the Sheraton Hotel in Lisbon.
The Voice and Data Communication Project of the Government of the Azores is transverse to all Governmental departments, providing support to all technological programmes developed in the information and communication technology areas.
In the context of the policy for information and communication technologies, the Government started a process to rationalise infrastructures that allowed the creation of a centralised coordination model, the establishment of a common development strategy for all Regional public entities, in addition to the accomplishment of concerted actions to hire communication services which, due to its dimension, will assure a significant reduction of current expenditures.
This project has made possible the development of solutions and applications transverse to all Governmental entities.
The jury of the 7th Edition of the Good Practices in the Public Sector Prize is composed by relevant personalities from the business, academic and political sectors of the Portuguese Society.
The entity that is responsible for organising the Prize competition is led by Deloitte and it is composed by various partner, among which are the Diário Económico (Economy Gazette), National Institute of Administration, IP (INA) and the Luso-American Development Foundation (FLAD).
