Under the activity programme developed by the Azores, as European Region of the Year 2010, in collaboration with SATA and Bensaúde Turismo, the official sponsors, the Government of the Azores, through the Office of the Regional Secretary of the Presidency, has awarded ten trips to the Azores and the respective stay as the result of contest that took place at the Lisbon Tourism Market (BTL) which ended in Lisbon this past Sunday.

The awards were given by the Under Secretary for European Affairs and External Cooperation, Rodrigo Oliveira, who the considered that this initiative is the first, among many others, with the purpose of “promoting the Azores among the Europeans, enhancing their contact with our culture, history, people and natural heritage.”
