Ponta Delgada ,  April 30, 2015

New Interjovem Card with reduced price for young people up to 23 years, announced Isabel Rodrigues

The Regional Assistant Secretary of the Presidency for Parliamentary Affairs announced in Ponta Delgada the advantages of the new Interjovem Card, which is available in the Azores to young people aged between 13 and 30 years.

"The 2015-2016 issue of the Youth Card now includes two age groups regarding its purchase. The first group goes from 13 to 23 and the second from 24 to 30 years," revealed Isabel Rodrigues.

In the first group, there will be price reduction higher than 25%. The card can be purchased for 35 Euros, while for the second group the price remains at 48 Euros.

The Interjovem Card offers discounts on sea travel on the vessels operated by Atlânticoline and Transmaçor as well as on air travel in the flights operated by Sata Air Açores and Sata Internacional. In addition, the discounts provided by this card also cover more than 200 partners from several areas, including restaurants, hotels, health and wellness, culture, sport and leisure.

"Bearing in mind the assessment made by the Government regarding its impact, we believe that this is the time to make changes in order to improve the attractiveness of the card and meet the needs of youth," said the Regional Secretary.

The presentation of the new Interjovem Card took place at the Maritime Terminal of the “Portas do Mar” and was attended by the Regional Director for Youth, Pilar Damião, representatives of its partners and young people.

Isabel Rodrigues mentioned that the Interjovem Card has registered a large membership of youth in the Azores. According to her, it has been one of the main youth mobility tools of the Regional Government. In fact, it "has promoted the knowledge on the different realities of each island by young people, hence consolidating a regional identity that is critical to the social cohesion of our Autonomous Region."
