The Regional Inspectorate of Education (IRE) is carrying out an inspection activity, which started on Terceira Island, to monitor the quality of educational support, covering 50% of the schools from the regional education system until 2012.
Due to operational issues, this multi-year inspection activity, which started at the Biscoitos Basic Education School, will be mainly developed on Terceira Island during 2010.
The IRE estimates that six schools will be inspected per year, involving two inspectors during three to five days in the field.
Analysing the quality of the educational support, verifying the adequacy of the educational support project (PAE) of schools, monitor its implementation and assessing the result of the projects, in a quality perspective of the school performance, are some of the goals of this inspection activity.
