Government carries out statutory visits to Flores and Corvo next week

The Government of the Azores will carry out statutory visits to the Western Group islands, visiting Flores from Monday to Wednesday and Corvo on Thursday.
On the first day of the visit to Flores, the President of the Government presides over the ceremony to lay the first stone of the construction of infrastructures in the Terça Neighborhood in Santa Cruz and will open the Headquarters of the Caveira Village Council in the late afternoon.
The Government of the Azores starts next Monday a four-day visit to the islands of Flores and Corvo, during which he will open the new Lajes Kindergarten and Elementary School.
Following the opening of the new school on Tuesday, Carlos César the construction site of the Flores Waste Centre in the same village. Later on, he will preside over the opening of hydrotherapy unit of the Santa Cruz das Flores Healthcare Centre as well as the meeting between the Government and the Island Council. 
The opening of the Caminho dos Ferros Velhos, a work included in the renewal of 21.4 km of regional roads on the island of Flores, is scheduled for the last day of the visit to the westernmost island of the archipelago.
Furthermore, the visit also includes the Lajedo Viewpoint, the water supply reservoir to farms in Vales, Santa Cruz, and the renewal works of the rural road of Caldeira da Lomba.
The meeting of the Council of the Government will be held on Wednesday afternoon, followed by the reading of the press release.
On Thursday, Carlos César presides over the opening of the support infrastructure to the fisheries sector on Corvo and the launching of the first stone of the Waste Processing Centre of that island.
The President of the Government will also attend the opening ceremony of the exhibition “The Republic: Ideals and Values,” integrated in the celebrations of the Centennial of the Republic, and the Wild Birds Recovery Centre of the Island of Corvo.
Moreover, the programme of this visit to the smallest island of the Azores also includes the meetings of the Azorean Government with the Corvo Island Council and the Council of the Government, which will be followed by the reading of the respective press release.
