The Regional Directorate for Tourism (DRT) promotes, on 27th and 28th September, the I Photographic Marathon of the World Day of Tourism, an initiative included in the program of celebrations of the ephemerid and developed in collaboration with Fotaçor/Foto Iris.

The inscriptions are open, being able to be accepted in the Delegation of Tourism of Terceira, in Rua de Direita, 74, in Angra do Heroísmo, in the Tourism Post of the Airport of Lajes, in Praia da Vitória, and in the balconies of Fotaçor/Foto Iris, in Rua de S. João, 18 in Angra, and in Rua Alexandre Ramos, 29A, in Praia, in working hours, up to 27th September, at 13 hours.

There will be able to participate in the marathon contestants with digital and conventional cameras, who will shoot a total of 36 photos during a period of 24 hours, each registered one having to take six photos of a determined subject, at every four hours, moving, for the effect, to six control posts that compose the proof.

The concentration of the participants is foreseen for 15 hours of 27th September, in Praça Velha, in Angra do Heroísmo, with beginning of the competition set for one hour later.

The ten better photos of each subject will participate in a collective exhibition, since 10th October 2008, in place and hour to designate.

Besides the attribution of prizes to the first three classified people, there are still predicted several moments of familiarity for the contestants, besides the involvement of the inhabitants and visitors in the initiatives of the DRT who will mark the World Day of Tourism.
