The Regional Secretary of the Presidency revealed in Horta today that the Annual Regional Plan for next year will allocate an amount over 5.6 million Euros to the youth sector.
The information was provided by André Bradford at the end of an audience with the Commission for Social Affairs of the Legislative Assembly on the proposals for the Regional Annual Plan and Budget for 2010.
As the Secretary added on the occasion, the investment in the youth area registers an increase in comparison to the previous year, privileging “the priority programmes that have proved useful, being sought after by youngsters and that have corresponded to the youngsters’ expectations regarding the Government’s actions.”
Hence, André Bradford highlighted the actions undertaken in the context of Entrepreneurship and the encouragement of youth initiative, which he considered essential especially in the current situation characterised by “financial and economic difficulties felt worldwide.”
This year, our priority is to ensure, across the government departments that have jurisdiction on the matters related to employment, a set of support “that will provide youngsters with solid guarantees” regarding the stability and the balance they need in the employment area.
