Government has achieved positive results regarding the support of children and youngsters at risk
The Regional Secretary for Labour and Social Solidarity stressed, during a visit to the “Madre Maria Clara” shelter on the Island of Pico, the work that has been developed by the Government of the Azores, regarding the creation, remodelling and expansion of the support equipments for children and youngsters at risk.
According to Ana Paula Marques, through the established policies, the Government has been able to implement measures to support children and youngsters who are sheltered at this institution, making possible their integration in small family-size units which ensure a more personalised education with better results.
In the context of the statutory visit of the Azorean Government to Pico, which ended today, Ana Paula Marques met with the Commission for the Protection of Children and Youngsters at Risk.
The Regional Secretary for Labour and Social Solidarity highlighted the need of carrying out a joint work, being connected with all entities that are related to these issues. She considers that this is the best strategy to enhance the positive effects of measures that Government has been implementing in the Archipelago, concerning the protection of children and youngsters at risk.
