The Government of the Azores will continue to provide the necessary means so that the Azorean agri-food products can reach additional external markets with a better quality.
This idea was stressed by the Regional Secretary for Forestry and Agriculture at the 16th Symposium on Economics and Management, which was organised by the Geographical and Social-Economic Sciences Department from the Domingos Rebelo Secondary School and took place this Wednesday in Ponta Delgada.
During the event dedicated to “O potencial da exportação do sector agrícola açoriano” (The potential of export in the Azorean agriculture sector), Noé Rodrigues pointed out the need to always “be conspicuous for the typical characteristics and quality of our products and for the defence of the best that is produced in our Region.”
The Secretary highlighted that all the awarded incentives, from production to commercialisation and even for transports, such as the case of inter-island, intend “to provide a greater competitiveness and sustainability to the activities of Regional producers, with the support also being extended to processing industries regarding their modernisation.”
In order to ensure the success of the process, the Government of the Azores also provided incentives to the promotion of agri-food products, available to all participants in the sector, thus assuring a greater success in the promotion of the Azorean products in the closest markets, such as the Portuguese mainland.
