The period for the submission of applications for "Daniel de Sá" Humanities Prize and "António Dacosta" Painting Prize run until May 27 and September 15, respectively.

Approved by the Azorean Government in 2014, the "Daniel de Sá" Humanities Prize aims to distinguish, every two years, an original work about the Azores, written in Portuguese, produced by a national or foreign author in the Essay and Literary Creation categories.

The prize money to be awarded is set at 6,000 Euros for each category. The distinguished works are then published by te Regional Directorate for Culture, following the assessment of the jury. It is composed of Joel Neto, Carlos Enes, Manoel Tomaz Costa, Maria João Cavaco and Victor Rui Dores.

The "António Dacosta" Painting Prize, also approved in 2014, aims to reward regional artists and acknowledge the value of regional cultural activity in fine arts (Painting), with special emphasis on abstract painting and figurative painting.

With a prize money of 6,000 Euros for each category, the works in the competition will be assessed this year by a jury made up of Duarte Melo, João Urbano Resendes and João Silvério.

The period for the submission of applications for "Paulo Gouveia" Architecture Prize will be made public on April 18, according to the legislation in force. This is the third prize awarded by the Regional Directorate for Culture every two years (even years).
