Campaign against alcohol abuse during the Academic Week

The Regional Directorate for Prevention and Combat to the Dependences will distribute flyers to raise youngsters’ awareness for the risks of alcohol abuse during Academic Week to be celebrated by the University of the Azores.

This is another initiative organised under the “Summer Festivities” campaign. The Regional Directorate for Prevention and Combat to the Dependences has chosen to integrate into the Azoreans’ festive spirit, demonstrating at the same time, that “there are several ways to make the party.”

This campaign began with the distribution of bracelets which contain an incomplete message, in the style of the “hangman game,” in order to stimulate youngsters’ curiosity. The full message will be revealed during the campaign

The bracelet contains the following sentence “FAZ A FESTA 100 _X_ _ _ _ _” (Make the party 100 _X_ _ _ _ _) which will be completed throughout various stages.

This specific imitative is developed in collaboration with the Academic Association of the University of the Azores.

Given the significant adherence of youngsters to the event, the Regional Directorate will also disseminate the “Linha Vida 1414 – SOS Droga” (Life Line 1414 – SOS Drug), a toll-free service, which is supported by the Institute on Drugs and Drug Addiction with the purpose of providing general information on the various aspects related to dependencies.
