Santa Maria student wins first prize in 6th "Ethics in Life and Sport" Literary Contest

Isabela Quadrado, student at Santa Maria Secondary School, won this year the first place in the "Ethics in Life and Sport" literary contest with a work entitled "I'm in the Race."

This student, who had already came in second place in the previous edition of this national competition, will attend the prize-delivery ceremony to take place in September at the premises of "A Bola" newspaper in Lisbon. Rodrigo Vieira da Silva, student at Velas Basic and Secondary School on São Jorge Island, will also attend the event. He came in third place in the contest with the work entitled "There's sea and sea, there's loosing and winning."

This literary contest falls within the activities carried out under the National Plan for Ethics in Sport (PNED). The Regional Secretariat for Education and Culture, through the Regional Directorate for Sport, is a partner of this initiative, promoting the values of ethics in sport in the Azores.

The contest is aimed at secondary school students and intends to stimulate the production of written works related to Ethics in Life and Sport, rewarding those who present the best quality.

Created by PNED, this initiative is also supported by "A Bola" sports newspaper, the Directorate-General of Education/School Sport, the Directorate-General of Reintegration and Prison Services, Sports Foundation and the Regional Secretariat for Education of the Regional Government of Madeira.
