The delegation of Tourism of Terceira in partnership with the Regional Tourism Association (ART), University of the Azores and several enterprises of the sector promote, on Saturday, varied leisure and recreation activities to celebrate the World Tourism Day in the two councils of the island.

With simultaneous beginning at nine o’clock, the program predicts visits to the Environment Observatory of the Azores, pedestrian walks, immersion baptisms and immersion, boat walks, cetaceans and birds’ observation, canoeing, exhibitions, proofs of regional products and tourist itineraries for the urban centres.

Along the whole day, the 1st Photographic Marathon of the World Tourism Day will happen and a craftwork market will be mounted, in Praça Velha, being the cities animated with cart tours, inflatables, facial paintings and rappel.

Besides these, PNF-Chi sessions are still planned in the interior of Monte Brasil and paintball to take place in a hotel and in bullfighting square of the island.

Slaughter of the pig in regional style, show of the slaughter group, parade of the Banda de Samouco in São Carlos and the performance of the chorus Associação Musical da Ilha Terceira (AMIT), in the staircases of Igreja do Colégio, at 21:00 o’clock more or less, appoint others of the program’s moments.

The initiatives, for free, lack for prior inscription, the interested ones being able to register in the kiosks of tourist information of the ART, by means of the presentation of the identity card for the gathering of vouchers for the different activities.

On this day, the Azorean hotel units offer to their guests pieces of craftwork and regional products, being the passengers of the flights of Sata International and of TAP received with an offer of flowers by a couple of youngsters traditionally dressed, among other activities.
