Another phase of the ESTAGIAR U programme started on July 15, a traineeship programme for young university students, which is a strategy to make them acquainted with the labour market.

This strategy intends to encourage an early contact with the Azorean business sector, even before youngsters finish their degree.  
The traineeships will last one month, taking place between July 15 and September 30.

A total of 154 applications were analysed and a record number of 272 trainees will have a work experience under this traineeship, which represents an increase of 180% in comparison with 2007 and of 35% in comparison with last year.

The adherence to this programme has been growing over the last two years, as its potentialities attract young university students, as well as the companies that host the traineeships.
