The President of the Government of the Azores said this morning that the decision regarding the construction of the cruise dock in Angra do Heroísmo has been taken and announced some time ago, for that reason he is surprised with the content of the news that have been recently published.
“There is no doubt about that matter, nor there is any foundation concerning a 40-million budget, as I have heard,” Carlos César added, stressing that the studies were exclusively commissioned regarding the possibility of building the cruise dock in the Angra do Heroísmo bay in accordance with the electoral promise made by the party that constitutes the Government.
Ensuring that there will be no change concerning the decision, Carlos César specified that “our choice is made by the adjustments of a cruise dock to the Angra do Heroísmo bay, particularly in terms of the connection and proximity with the urban area, which has been a characteristic of this type of infrastructures built in the Azores, such as the case of the Ponta Delgada cruise terminal and the Horta passenger terminal which is at a construction stage at the present moment.
