Rui Bettencourt delivers certificates to 22 young trainees under the EURODYSSEY Programme

The Regional Director for Labour, Vocation Training and Consumer Protection (DRTQPDC) will deliver certificates to a group of 22 young trainees under the Eurodyssey programme at the DRTQPDC building in Ponta Delgada on Thursday at 2:45 PM.
This second group is composed by trainees aged between q8 and 30 years from the Spanish regions Cantabria, Catalonia, Valencian Community, the French regions of Île-de-France, Rhône-Alpes, Bourgogne and Picardie and the region of Brussels-Capital in Belgium.
During the five-month traineeship, the Azores provided youngsters with a monthly grant, a Portuguese language and culture course as well as a professional traineeship in regional entity in accordance to their training area.
The traineeships of the group that is about complete their professional training in the Azores comprised areas such as audio-visual and design, biology and nature conservation, culture and early childhood education, law, communications, advertising and public relations. In this context, several entities collaborated with the DRTQPDC: the company IRIS audiovisuais Lda, the Departments of Biology and Agricultural Sciences, the Department of Oceanography and Fisheries of the University of the Azores, the Social Studies Centre of the same university, the MALA cultural cooperative, the Angra do Heroísmo Museum, the APAV Association (Portuguese Association for Victim Support), the “Centro de bem-estar social João XXIII” (social welfare centre) , the companies Clássica, Janela Activa and Açormedia, S.A., the Norte Crescente Association and the Europe Direct-Açores Information Centre.
Every year, the Azores welcome trainees from the European continent, both within and outside the EU, in order to integrate them into local institutions and companies as assets for the development of the local business sector, thereby reinforcing the Region’s role in the promotion of the professional insertion of qualified youngsters.
Since January 2010, over 80 Azorean youngsters did their traineeships in European regions whilst several European youngsters did their professional traineeship in the Autonomous Region of the Azores under the EURODYSSEY Programme.
