Support to 7th Acaral demonstrates strong ties between Government and Azorean scouts, says Regional Director for Youth

The Regional Director for Youth highlighted today the "strong ties between the Regional Government and Azorean scouts," stressing that the support to 7th ACARAL "is another demonstration of this strong connection."

Lúcio Rodrigues spoke at Velas Camping Park, São Jorge Island, where the event will take place´. It will involve more than 500 participants from all the islands of the archipelago.

The 7th Azorean ACARAL - Regional Camp for Cub Scouts will take place between July 16 and 23 and is aimed at young scouts from 6 to 12 years.

Lúcio Rodrigues recalled that the Regional Government "supported the holding of the Azorean Jamboree on the island of Faial two years ago and the Azorean Rover, which took place last year on the island of Flores."

"This year, we will support ACARAL, which clearly demonstrates the work carried out in partnership with the Regional Government," stressed the government official.

"We have decided to sign this financing agreement amounting to 30 thousand Euros on the island of São Jorge, where ACARAL will be held, as a way to promote the success of the event," said the Regional Director for Youth.

Lúcio Rodrigues praised the "example of volunteering set by Scout Leaders to young people," highlighting the "important experiences they instil in children and young people."

For the Regional Director, these experiences "will have a long-term impact, throughout their adult life."

"Scouts are a highly praised partner by the Regional Government due to their common goal: the provision of good experiences and good education to our young people and our children," said Lúcio Rodrigues.
