The Regional Secretariat for the Environment and the Sea is promoting training courses on the Regional Information System on Waste (SRIR) on the Biosphere islands of the archipelago - Graciosa, Flores and Corvo – in the months of January and February. Being the International Year for Biodiversity, these training courses aim to promote the preservation of environmental quality and, subsequently, the harmony and natural beauty of these islands classified as Biosphere Reserves.
The training courses on the registration and operation of the SRIR are addressed at the waste producers, waste management operators, local councils, municipality associations, chambers of commerce and industry and at the RIAC assistance centres.
This training course will be held in Santa Cruz da Graciosa in the afternoon of January 26 and on Corvo in the morning of February 2. In addition, two training courses is take place on Flores, one in the municipality of Lajes das Flores in the morning of February 8 and the other in the municipality of Santa Cruz in the morning of February 9.
With these training courses, the Regional Directorate for the Environment aims to disseminate and demonstrate the Regional Information System on Waste.
