Regional director for employment and vocational training delivering the certificates

Young Europeans of six countries and of 12 regions finished their Eurydice traineeship in the Azores

The regional director for Employment and Vocational Training received today, in Ponta Delgada, 32 young Europeans who finished their traineeship in several professional areas in the Azores, to the shelter of the Eurydice program.

Rui Bettencourt proceeded to the delivery of certificates to all the youngsters originating from six countries (Norway, Croatia, Belgium, France, Spain and Romania) and of 12 regions (Akershus, Varaždin, Wallonia, Brussels, of Ile, France, Picardie, Poitou-Charentes, Rhône-Alpes, Murcia, Valencia, Harghita and Catalonia) and that developed professional traineeships in the islands of São Miguel, Terceira, São Jorge and Faial.

The youngsters, with ages understood between the 18 and 30 years old, have high academic education, namely in areas like the Archaeology, Oceanography, Anthropology, Biology, Political Science and Sociology, Sciences of the Sea, Economy, Economical Sciences, Food, Veterinary, Health and Environmental Engineerings, Audio Visual Communication, History of Art, Human Resources, Computer Science Engineering and Tourism.

Rui Bettencourt showed that some of them want to stay in the Azores, having even already the promise of job contracts.

The regional director for Employment and Vocational Training recognized the good welcome done to the youngsters in the Azores by part of the entities, private and public enterprises, associations and the Azorean university, where they did a traineeship, as well as their professionalism and personal commitment.

Rui Bettencourt underlined to be very important that the construction of Europe is done by the youth and told that the "Eurydice" is the only program that works between regions, even those that aren’t part of the European Union.

Of the enterprises and institutions that received the trainees, there stand out the University of the Azores, through its Biology, Oceanography and Fishing and Sciences of the Education Departments, but also the IMAR, the INOVA, the Açormédia, the IRIS, the Regional Directorate for Culture and the IAC, the Delegation of Tourism of São Miguel, travel agencies, enterprises of the industry of dairy products or associations of the nature.
