Regional Public Administration centralises management of human resources and saves one million Euros
The Regional Directorate for Organisation and Public Administration (DROAP), under the administration of the Vice-Presidency of the Regional Government, has implemented a centralised management system for management and administrative and accounting procedures that has replaced several computer applications, thus improving efficiency and reducing costs.
The Integrated Management System of Human Resources of the Regional Administration of the Azores (SIGRHARA), in operation since January 1, 2011, is now the only computer application used for salary processing and other allowances granted to regional administration workers as well as for the management of the regional staff table per island.
SIGRHARA has replaced the previous four computer applications used by the regional administration, which corresponded to more than 470 user licenses, representing an overall cost over one million Euros in computer hardware, training and development of applications.
The Integrated Management System of Human Resources of the Autonomous Region of the Azores is always available online for free in any part of the world to more than 14,600 users (members of the Government, cabinet staff, leader and employees), with different access profiles for the three SIGRHARA portals: "Human Resources," "Leader" and "Employee."
SIGRHARA has earned the Azorean Government a nomination for a European award that distinguishes systems designed to promote efficiency in public management; the decision on the programmes under evaluation should be made public in September.
