Open Days initiative contributed to integration of more than 250 young Azoreans into the labour market

The Regional Director for Employment and Vocational Training revealed in Lagoa, S. Miguel Island, that “252 young people have already been integrated into the labour market under the Open Days initiative," welcoming the success of this initiative with “great satisfaction."

"According to the data available so far, we have managed to integrate more than 252 young people out of the 443 job offers provided by companies during the three Open Days that took place in Angra do Heroísmo, Horta and Ponta Delgada," stated Paula Andrade at the end of a visit to Caloura Hotel Resort.

With this initiative, which enabled young Azoreans to have a more direct and closer contact with employers from various sectors with recruitment needs, “57% of the youth job vacancies provided by companies” were filled," stressed the Regional Director.

In addition to highlighting the results achieved with this measure, which was implemented for the first time in the Azores, the Regional Director for Employment also pointed out the positive response of business entities to the challenge launched by the Vice-Presidency of the Government.

Moreover, Paula Andrade stressed that, following the Open Days, "more than 100 job vacancies requested by regional companies will be under selection during August."

The Regional Director also stressed that the Regional Government will continue working to implement employment measures towards the training and improvement of skills of Azorean citizens with "the aim of enhancing their employability."
