Exhibition by Rafael Calduch at the Horta Museum

The Horta Museum will open on February 11 a painting exhibition by Raphael Calduch titled “the margin in the margin” (a margem na margem) at the temporary exhibition room of the João José da Graça Public Library and Regional Archives, which will be open to the public until March 27.

Rafael Calduch is a painter, engraver, researcher and Full Professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Polytechnic University of Valencia in Spain. He gave seminars at various national and international faculties of arts, in addition to teaching several courses. He is also a member of multiple academic and artistic juries.

He began to display his works in 1966 and he has participated in more than one hundred solo and group exhibitions Germany, Belgium, Chile, Cuba, Spain, the United States, France, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Nicaragua, Portugal, Dominican Republic and Switzerland.

With over four dozen catalogues published and over fifty works published containing references to his long artistic career, his artistic estate integrates the contemporary art collections of various museums in Europe, Asia and America.

This exhibition by Rafael Calduch features 30 paintings, following a constructive process which is essentially done at the surface by colour prints in a language liberated from forms that leads to a notion of painting as a space of vestiges/ testimonies.
