Berto Messias stressed the importance of this programme, which "actively involves young people in their communities from school age," namely by "providing a first contact with the labour market in institutions such as associations, hospitals, museums, municipalities or the regional public administration."
"The purpose of OTL-J Programme is to provide young people with an innovative way of occupying their leisure time by contributing to their non-formal education, by acquiring new knowledge, norms and values that are inherent to responsible citizenship. It also contributes to the accumulation of social and professional experiences, which will be decisive to the formation of qualified and responsible citizens," said the government official.
The "Young Students" sub-programme aims to channel the availability of young students to a useful occupation of their free time. This goal is achieved through the performance of tasks that meet scientific and socio-cultural animation interests by promoting, disseminating and carrying out the survey of historical and cultural heritage.
This sub-programme comprises activities to be developed in the areas of historical and cultural heritage, tourism, administration and secretariat, scientific research, new information and communication technologies, among others.
"OTL-J is one of the tools that the Regional Government applies in order to improve qualification and increase the employability of our young people, while stimulating their civic participation," said Berto Messias.
