The Regional Health Authority reports that fifteen positive cases of COVID-19 were diagnosed in the Region, according to testing conducted by the two laboratories of reference in the Azores.

Six cases were detected on the island of São Miguel, two on the island of Terceira, five on the island of Pico and two on the island of Faial.

On São Miguel Island, the diagnosed cases correspond to two males, aged 38 and 47, and four females, three of them aged between 19 and 33 and one aged 80.

Four cases have a history of recent travel outside the Region.

In turn, the cases detected on Terceira Island concern a male and a female, aged 50 and 47, respectively, who are unrelated to the cases previously detected on this island.

As for the new five positive cases on Pico Island, they correspond to two males, aged 42 and 71, and three females aged 3, 39 and 64.

They belong to the same household, with two individuals having recently travelled abroad.

The two confirmed cases on Faial Island correspond to a male, aged 43, and a female aged 42.

Both cases are related and have a history of recent travel outside the Region.
