Regional Directorate for Health recommends restrictions on inpatient visits and accompanying persons in the emergency room
The Regional Directorate for Health recommends restrictions in the number of visits to patients admitted to integrated continuing care units, nursing homes and "casas de saúde" (mental institutions) under the measures aimed at preventing infections with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
An information circular released today determines that the professionals responsible for these inpatient units should limit visits to one person during restricted visiting hours.
The Regional Directorate for Health also determines that the same restriction is applied to accompanying persons in the Emergency Room and in the Basic Emergency Units.
Visitors must not have symptoms such as cough, fever or shortness of breath.
The Information Circular no.12/2020 released by the Regional Directorate for Health is directed to health services provided by the Regional Health Service, integrated continuing care units, nursing homes and "casas de saúde" (mental institutions).
