LREC promotes "Certified Passive House Designer" Course

The Regional Civil Engineering Laboratory (LREC) promotes, in collaboration with Passivhaus Academy, the CERTIFIED PASSIVE HOUSE DESIGNER course on September 15, 22 and 29; October 6, 13, 20 and 27; November 3, 10 and 17.

This is an official course of the Passivhaus Institut. It certifies participants as Certified Passive House Designer, after passing the world exam scheduled for December 1, 2017.

Participants may attend the course on full time or only on the days/modules that consider pertinent. The initiative is directed to consultants and designers (architects, civil engineers, engineering technician, mechanical engineers, and qualified experts, among others).

After attending this course, participants will be able to implement Passive House solutions, design Passive House buildings and use the PHPP tool. In addition, the worldwide examination provides certification as Certified Passive House Designer.

This course, which introduces new features in the modules, is adapted to the national reality and to the NZEB.

Buildings with high-energy efficiency reached through passive measures are currently indicated as fundamental to reach the nearly zero energy buildings (NZEBs) target. Therefore, the introduction of passive measures is the most effective methodology to reduce carbon emissions and energy consumption in the construction sector, namely in buildings.

"Passive House" is a constructive concept that sets a comfortable, economically accessible and sustainable energy-efficient standard. This is a solution for buildings with almost zero energy needs that will be mandatory from 2019 for public buildings and from 2021 for the remaining buildings.

Those who wish to obtain more information or enrol in the course should access the Portugal Passivhaus Association page at http://passivhaus.pt/index.html.
