The Agency for the Promotion of Investment in the Azores (APIA) was transferred from the Vice-Presidency to the Secretariat for the Economy
APIA will henceforth be under the administrative control of the Secretariat for the Economy. An economics parliamentary commission considered this institutional transfer, proposed in new legislation submitted by the Regional Government. On Monday, the Regional Secretary for the Presidency met with an economics parliamentary commission and explained the rationale of the proposal.
After meeting with the elected representatives, the Secretary for the Presidency, André Bradford, said that this change, made possible by the alteration of APIA’s legal statute, is of the “exclusive responsibility of the Regional Government.”
André Bradford said that APIA’s transfer to Regional Secretariat for the Economy “corroborates the dynamic nature of governance, which evolves by perfecting not only its institutional organisation but its policies and its objectives, at the service of the Azores in general, especially its citizens.”
