With regard to the transfers to the Azores, the State Budget proposal for 2010 submitted at the Assembly of the Republic “meets,” according to the Vice-President of the Regional Government, “the amounts as well as our expectations as estimated in the Regional Budget.”

The State Budget proposal for 2010 estimates the allocation of 359.5 million Euros to the Azores under the Regional Finance Act, 10.98 million Euros from other transfers and 21 million Euros under the PIDDAC.

The Regional Government maintains its expectation regarding some outstanding issues, such as the transfer method of 5% of the income tax to the local councils, which is dependent on the evolution of the amendment of the Regional Finance Act that is currently under discussion at the Assembly of the Republic.
