The Vice-President of the Government, through the Regional Inspection of Economic Activities, will donate various materials seized by IRAE in the course of inspection actions to Private Social Solidarity Institutions (IPSS).

The material, worth more than 80,000 Euros, will be delivered in the coming days and includes mattresses, pillows and mattress liners that were seized as part of a criminal case of fraud.

In order to ensure equal support and meet the needs of the various entities, the material will be distributed to different charities.

The delivery of this material to Private Social Solidarity Institutions was proposed to the Judicial Court of Ponta Delgada, which agreed to this initiative, since the property had already been forfeited to the State.

The Vice-Presidency of the Government stressed the importance of these donations, since the material cannot be traded. However, they were in good conditions and can benefit disadvantaged people.

Whenever there is opportunity, and in a context of social accountability, IRAE has been engaged in the donation of seized goods and materials instead of destroying them.
