The Vice-President of the Government of the Azores revealed that the applications to the new incentive scheme COMPETIR+ open Monday, February 9.

Speaking at a press conference, Sérgio Ávila stated that the investment projects eligible for this measure may be submitted under the subsystems for Qualification and Innovation, Promotion of Exports, Qualified and Creative Entrepreneurship, Local Development and Support to Business Efficiency.

"With this measure, Azorean companies will be, once again, the first in the country to promote the sustained development of regional economy, strengthen the competitiveness of Azorean companies and provide them with the capacity to enter new markets, hence expanding the economic base of our Region," said the government official.

"Starting next week, Azorean companies may apply to the most comprehensive, intense and diversified incentive scheme that was ever created, not only in the Azores but also in the rest of the country."

The applications mentioned by the Vice-President of the Azorean Government should be submitted through the Portugal 2020 Electronic Desk.
