Three new Labour Inspectors entered into office in Ponta Delgada last Monday, thus reinforcing the staff of the Regional Inspectorate of Labour.
At the occasion, the Regional Director for Labour, Vocational Training and Consumer Defence and the Regional Inspector of Labour praised and highlighted the importance of the work to be carried out by the new inspectors to improve working conditions.
The Government’s wish to provide the Regional Inspectorate of Labour with new inspectors was another aspect addressed at the event.
In addition to considering prevention and proactivity as essential resources for a good performance of the assigned duties, the Regional Director and the Regional Inspector also stressed the respect and compliance with the principle of legality, i.e., law enforcement, in its coercive and educational aspects, which is fundamental for the role played by labour inspectors.
