Regional Inspectorate of Economic Activities supervises festivities and summer festivals

The Regional Inspectorate of Economic Activities (IRAE), a supervisory entity under the administration of the Vice-presidency of the Government, has already conducted 593 inspections during festivities and summer festivals in the archipelago of the Azores.

Only two situations of non-compliance were identified in the scope of these actions, both on Terceira Island, which concerned the lack of prior communication by economic operators. Overall, the inspections have demonstrated a widespread compliance with the rules applicable to the activities carried out by the entities.

The IRAE brigades have carried out preventive inspection actions on the eve of each festivity or festival. The main purpose is to allow economic operators installed in these places to clarify doubts and prevent situations that may endanger the health of visitors attending festivals and festivities.

Until September 30, IRAE will continue to promote another operational plan to monitor compliance with the legal provisions on the confection and sale of food and other items for sale during festivities and festivals in the Region.

In addition, the brigades of the Regional Inspectorate of Economic Activities will continue to carry out, within the scope of their powers, inspections to bars and other places where there may be minors buying and consuming alcoholic beverages.
