Nearly half hundred executives and managers of regional and national enterprises participate, since today, in Angra do Heroísmo, in the “Course of Leadership for the Century XXI”, promoted by the Regional Government and by the American-Portuguese Foundation for the Development, in collaboration with the University of Harvard, of the United States.
The regional director for Employment and Vocational Training was in the opening session and he emphasized the training of "excellence" made possible to the participants through the course administered in the Region.
“With this course, we try to give one more step for the excellence - excellence in the government, in the organization of services, in the strategic vision, in the capacity of life and in the training of human resources”, said Rui Bettencourt.
As he pointed out, this course comes to reaffirm “the geostrategic importance” of the Azores while allowing that the archipelago is “the link of connection” between the United States and Portugal.
Rui Bettencourt affirmed, still, that it is only possible to compare the "fragmentation" of the “nine markets” of the Region through the qualification of the human resources existent in them.
Administered by the Harvard Kennedy School, the course, which occurs up to Friday, aims at the improvement of the capacities of leadership of the business deciders and boards subjects like “Leadership and Authority”, “Identification of the adaptable challenge”, “Analysis of Cases”, “Consultation of Pairs”, among others.
