The number of registered people in the Azores employment centres lowered again 11,7 percent in August, face to the previous month, for 2.985 - according to data of the Employment and Vocational Training Institute, IEFP.

The IEFP revealed that in the Country the reduction was at 0,5 percent, which numbers indicate, for Madeira, region perceptibly with the same population of the Azores, a total of 8.209 registered unemployed people, almost the triple of the unemployed people in the Azores.

Another indicator that highlights the good situation of the employment is the number of the job offers that increased 159,3 percent in August, which represents 12 times the addition of the job offers at national level, which was of 13,6 percent.

The level of unemployment in the Azores is two thirds inferior to that of the Country, since the Azorean population corresponds to 2,4 percent of national whole and the Azorean unemployed people hardly represent 0,8 percent of the national ones.
