The Regional Government, through the Regional Directorate for Employment and Vocational Training, promotes the opening of a new application period for "Estagiar L" and "Estagiar T" traineeship programmes from August 1 to 31.
 
Applications should be made at the address www.estagiar.azores.gov.pt; the traineeship begins on October 1.
 
The "Estagiar" programme aims to promote the integration of young graduates into the labour world through professional traineeships lasting 18 or 24 months, while contributing to the establishment of young people on smaller islands.
 
The measure created by the Regional Government enables young people to have a wider knowledge about companies and organisations as well as reinforces the competitiveness and rejuvenation of the human resources in the Azorean business fabric.
 
Private and public companies, local, regional and central public administration services, cooperatives and non-profit entities may apply for this measure aimed at young people with higher or intermediate qualifications.
 
In late May, 1,732 young people were participating in the "Estagiar" programme, a highly successful programme for the integration of young people into the labour market with an employment rate of 57.2% after the end of the traineeship.
