Course for the Acquisition of Basic Skills certifies 55 trainees

The Regional Director for Employment and Vocational Training stressed "the commitment and effort" of the 55 trainees who completed the course for the Acquisition of Basic Skills (ABC).

Speaking on Thursday during the delivery ceremony of the 9th form diplomas to the beneficiaries of "Rede Valorizar" who completed this level of education, Ilda Baptista stressed that "the time when diplomas are delivered cannot be regarded as the end of the road, but as a starting point for the next level of challenges."

In her speech, the Regional Director stressed the fact that almost all the 60 trainees who enrolled initially have successfully completed the course.

ABC courses are training courses created under the Azorean Agenda for Employment Creation and Business Competitiveness and developed by "Rede Valorizar."

These training activities have a duration of 300 hours and aim to increase the educational level of adults enrolled in the Agencies for Qualification and Employment.

Before the development of this initiative, the courses focused on the completion of 4th and 6th form. This is the first time that the programme has been tested for the 9th form.

Of the initial 60 trainees, 55 have completed the course. It is important to note that seven trainees had enrolled in "Rede Valorizar" with qualifications lower than the 6th form. With this programme, they were able to achieve their goal to complete compulsory schooling.

For Ilda Baptista, these are "outstanding examples that demonstrate the dedication and commitment to seize the potentialities arising from the qualification and certification policies that have been conducted by the Regional Government of the Azores."
