The Regional Director for Support to the Investment and Competitiveness highlighted in Ponta Delgada the approval of another 15 projects, submitted under Competir + and approved by the Azores Operational Programme (PO Açores 2020), representing an investment of nearly 10 million Euros.
 
"These 15 recently approved investment projects, with an estimated eligible amount of almost 10 million Euros, will be granted a financial support of nearly 5.3 million Euros," said Ricardo Medeiros, who spoke on the sidelines of a visit to a commercial establishment.
 
According to the Regional Director, the 15 investment projects, subsidised by Community funds, "provide for the creation of 54 new jobs on several islands."
 
"Seven of these 15 projects will be implemented on Santa Maria, S. Miguel, Terceira, S. Jorge and Pico," revealed the Regional Director.
 
As for the area of activity, Ricardo Medeiros stated that nine projects are aimed at tourism projects, namely in accommodation and catering, four at commerce and two at services.
 
With regard to the various subsystems of Competir +, five projects were submitted under the Promotion of Exports subsystem, five under the Local Development subsystem and the remaining under the Qualified and Creative - Youth Entrepreneurship subsystem.
