The submission of applications to support projects for the development of science experimental teaching has started this week, and the registration period will take place until September 18.
This measure, which was created by the Regional Secretariat for Science, Technology and Infrastructures (SRCTE), intends to encourage the use and application of technical resources, practices and scientific-technologic methodologies in education, thus developing a desire for learning, a critical spirit and creativity among students.
Boosting the creation and development of new educational interactive products to stimulate experiments, facilitate the understanding and consolidate knowledge is another goal of the Regional Government. Through this measure, promoting the establishment of technical and scientific partnerships between entities will be possible.
The initiative is addressed at the schools of the educational system that integrate the public network of schools in the Autonomous Region of the Azores or their school funds.
With this measure, the SRCTE will finance all school expanses, particularly those related to travel and stays, with consultants or guests, consumables, acquisition of equipments or components, among others.
The total budget available for this competition is 120 thousand Euros, and the funding to be awarded to each approved project may correspond to 100 percent of its global value, reaching the maximum limit of 7,500 Euros.
