The Regional Secretariat for Science, Technology and Infrastructures (SRCTE) promotes, by the third time this year, the participation of researchers from the Regional Scientific and Technological System in scientific meetings to take place in Portugal or abroad, through a measure of expense reimbursement.

This call for application, which started in the beginning of this week and will take place until January 5 2010, intends to promote the dissemination of the scientific research results at a national and international level, through the presentation and discussion of public works of acknowledged quality.

With this support, the SRCTE also intends to contribute to specialised training, particularly of young Azorean researchers and boost the contacts between experts from different national, European and global scientific institutions.

The measure, available on the website http://www.azores.gov.pt/gra/sctr, aims to project the result of the scientific researches conducted in the Autonomous Region of the Azores in the European Research Area by promoting the participation of researchers in internationally renowned scientific meetings.

The total amount provided by the SRCTE under this call for application competition is of fifty thousand Euros. The funds allocated for each project will be distributed according to the participation destination; therefore, in the national territory will be of 600 Euros; 1,250 Euros for the events taking place in Europe and 1,750 Euros for events taking place in other continents.
