The Regional Secretariat for Science, Technology and Infrastructures (SRCTE) has approved twelve projects in a total of 140 billion Euros in the context of the second edition Science and Technology Week under the theme “Celebrating the National Day of Scientific Culture - Week of Science and Technology.”
Science and technology will be the highlight in more than one hundred scientific institutions, universities, schools, associations, museums and in Ciência Viva Centres (interactive science centres) during this week until November 29.
There were several entities in the Azores that have applied for the Measure 4.2.3 of the SRCTE, from the Santana Astronomical Observatory to ExpoLab, the University of the Azores, INOVA (Institute of Technological Innovation of the Azores), schools and various associations.
With the support awarded by this contest, which was held from September 15 to October 9, these entities will be able to organise various activities for the promotion of science and technology, thus stimulating the curiosity of the Azorean community and simultaneously allowing direct observation, scientific experimentation and the contact with the new technologies.
Workshops, interactive exhibits, exhibitions, lectures, experimental activities, fairs and visits to schools are currently being financed by this measure.
The support of the SRCTE also comprises the exhibition of videos on science and technology, the publishing of dissemination pages on the internet, field work, a regional and information sessions on science and technology promoted by the schools of the Region.
