The Regional Secretariat for Science, Technology and Infrastructures (SRCTE) has opened a new call for tenders for the submission of applications to support the participation of researchers in scientific meetings to be held in Portugal and abroad between October 1 and December 31.
The initiative aims to encourage the participation of regional researchers in scientific meetings outside the archipelago with the purpose of disseminating, both nationally and internationally, the results of scientific research conducted in the Azores through presentation and public discussion of works of acknowledge quality.
This measure implemented by the SRCTE also intends to contribute to specialised training, particularly of young researchers, encourage the contact between experts from different scientific institutions and, simultaneously, project scientific research conducted in the Autonomous Region of the Azores under the European Research Area.
The eligible applicants, whose applications should be submitted until September 28, must practice in the Azores. This support measure comprises all researchers working in public or private R&D or RD&I institutions as well as researchers working regional R& D or RD&I units in a hospital, business or associative context.
The SRCTE will award 50 thousand Euros for this application. The amount to be allocated to each project will be distributed according to the destination. Thus the awarded support will reach 600 Euros in national events, 1250 Euros in international events taking place in European countries and 1750 Euros in events held in other continents.
