Government attributes 800 thousand euros for acquisition of equipments to several firemen's corporations of the Azores
The Government of the Azores attributed to eight corporations of voluntary firemen of the archipelago nearly 800 thousand euros to finance the acquisition of several equipment.
Granted through the Regional Secretariat for Science, Technology and Equipments, the amount is meant for the acquisition of ambulances and hospital emergency vehicles, among other necessary equipments to those corporations.
To the firemen's associations of Graciosa and of Velas more than 56 thousand euros were granted for purchase of help ambulances, while the associations of Angra do Heroísmo, of Santa Maria and of Graciosa were contemplated with nearly 35 thousand euros intended for the acquisition of multiple transport ambulances.
To the Angra do Heroísmo and Calheta firemen there will equally be attributed a financial support of nearly 240 thousand euros for purchase of a emergency hospital vehicle.
The supports now granted contemplate also the corporations of Ponta Delgada and of Ribeira Grande, with 27 thousand euros each for acquisition of a command vehicle, and of Calheta, with 10 thousand euros for purchase of a support car.
For the purchase of four harnesses, the voluntary firemen of Angra do Heroísmo still receive more 13 thousand euros.
With these supports, the Executive intends to endow the corporations with the necessary equipments to the answers of the emergency services, which are claimed more and more efficient and fast, of the Azores Regional Civil Protection and Fire Service.
