Vocational training with 127 training courses in the Azores

The vocational training offer in the Azores for 2009/2010 comprises 127 training courses in 64 areas with 2,540 available positions.
The announcement was made in Praia da Vitória today by the Regional Secretary for Labour and Social Security, after visiting an exhibition with the offer of vocational training and post-secondary courses, which is integrated in the 2009/2010 Forum on Jobs.
Speaking to journalists, Ana Paula Marques emphasised the commitment of the Regional Government of the Azores in the vocational training process of Azorean youngsters, through a growing diversification in the offer of training courses and their adjustment to the actual needs of companies.
Hence, the Secretary pointed out the role played by the Labour and Vocational Training Observatory regarding the permanent adjustment of both training and labour market according to the expected requests.
On the other hand, the Regional Secretariat announced that the Government of the Azores has already invested 14.1 million Euros from the European Social Fund in vocational training since October 2008.
The 18 vocational training schools of the Archipelago, the secondary schools of Terceira with PROFIJ (Youth Integration Training Programme) courses and the University of the Azores participated in this exhibition that was visited by Ana Paula Marques.
