The Regional Secretary for Employment and Social Solidarity, Ana Paula Marques, attended, this Monday, the inauguration ceremony of the eighteenth edition of The Regional Championship of the Professions.

This initiative, of the Regional Government of the Azores, will take place until the 16th of January.  Its objectives are to provide an opportunity for an exchange of experiences, work methods and techniques amongst its participants, juries, instructors, workshop chiefs and spectators. This event is intended to promote the exchange of practical professional know-how.

With this initiative, the Regional Government is seeking to provide an opportunity to communicate across distinct socio-cultural contexts, an experience that challenges and stimulates the adaptive capacities of the participants. Moreover, it is also a good opportunity to deepen bonds of friendship that help participants overcome difficulties and inhibitions at the personal, professional and social levels and, moreover, contribute to the valorisation and development of the Professional Training governmental programme.

For the duration of five days, there will be contests in fifteen professional areas; namely: Hairdressing, Accounting and Management, Cooking, Design and Civil Construction, Electrical Installation, Cisco Specialisation, Make-up, Information Technology Network Management, Work Security and Hygiene, Waiting and Bar, Information Technology, Web Design and Hotel and Tourism Reception.
