The Government is going to celebrate a cooperation agreement with the House of Mercy of Lajes do Pico which predicts the transfer, for this institution, of 1,5 million euros meant for the construction, in the town, of a retirement home.

The support to the Executive to the execution of the project, which includes the supply of the respective equipment, takes into account the need of “creating deserved conditions for accommodation of elderly” in the council of Lajes.

The resolution that approves the signature of the cooperation contract with the House of Mercy of Lajes points out the important support that the institution has been securing to the third age, authorizing the Regional Secretariat for Employment and Social Solidarity for advancing with the respective process.
